Sagging Floors in Belle Plaine, KS

Did you know having very heavy items in your home can cause your floors to sag? This is what happened to LeAnna's home. She had recently put in new tile and drywall, only to have it crack again. It was time to get to the bottom of it. She called Thrasher and we came out to find out what was really going on in this home. Jason White found the home had a very large crawl space without much support. Without that support, things like heavy furniture upstairs will make floors sag.

It's an easy fix, though. We installed SmartJacks and supplemental beams in her crawl space to help fully support the floor and the weight.

LeAnna was so happy with the results and that the crew was able to get the floor within 1/16" throughout her home.

Foundation Repair in Wichita, KS

Nick noticed a large crack above the door of his mother's house. He called Thrasher to maintain value and make sure his mom was safe in her home. Jon Graves went out to the home to find out what was happening. He found the garage had settled to the outside corner, causing a large crack above the door to open up. To fix this, we installed push piers. But then things got interesting.

When we did the lift, the result was excellent. The crack closed up, and everything looked good. However, the crew left, and when they came back the following day to finish up, they noticed a new crack behind the old crack had opened in a straight line down the mortar joint. This is something that can happen when lifting a home, especially brick. It doesn't happen often, but we always mention to the customer the possibility. Once we noticed the new crack, we instantly checked to ensure there was no settlement, and luckily, we found none. We then sealed the crack and blended the mortar to be less visible. Everything was good as new again!

Nick and his mom were excited that the crack had closed up. They were, at first, concerned about the new crack, but they felt more at ease that we immediately addressed it and fixed the issue. Their garage is stabilized and will not be moving anymore.

Sagging Floors in McPherson, KS

Virginia initially reached out to us to pour new concrete for her back patio. After explaining that it's not a service we provide, it opened up a conversation. She asked, "What else do you do?" After listing our services, she figured we could still help her, just in another area. Her floors were sagging and dipping in the back of the house, near the kitchen. She was worried that if she were ever to rent it out or try to sell, that'd be an issue.

Sheldon Sharp, System Design Specialist at Thrasher, went out to her home to find the root of the problem. When he went into the crawl space, he found the cement blocks holding up her house had settled and were falling over. To prevent further damage to her home, we installed smart jacks and new i-beams to support the floors and lift them to give the floor a sturdy feel.

Virginia loved how the floors felt and was so happy we did a thorough inspection. We were happy to help her with something she didn't realize was an issue when she initially called!

Crawl Space support with CleanSpace Belle Plaine, KS

Jason wanted his home to be properly supported so that the continued damage and bowing in his floors would stop. Without proper support in this crawlspace, Jason was seeing the effects of cracks in his newly remodeled home. Due to minimal support in his crawlspace the floors began to sag and crack the tiles on the main level. With SmartJacks, supplemental beams, and CleanSpace throughout the crawlspace, the floors were able to be fully supported. Jason was extremely happy with the work done, and can now sleep better at night knowing his crawlspace is fully supported.

Failing Wall Gets EverBrace System in Hoyt, KS

This customer has had foundation issues for years. She's worked with other companies to get it fixed, but all of the installed systems were failing. When your house has severe wall failure, your entire home is in danger and your family's safety. And that's what was happening here. This homeowner decided to choose Thrasher because we were the only ones able to give her an option that didn't require full foundation replacement. When we inspected the home, we found that her basement walls were in stage four of wall failure. The walls were bowing about 6 to 7 inches in some areas with severe shearing.

When walls are this bad, our best solution is our EverBrace system. It's a less disruptive system than foundation replacement but offers the support the home needs. Here's how it works: steel corrugated panels and beams work together to strengthen and stabilize foundation walls. Rigid foam is then injected to fill any voids behind the steel panels, fully transferring the load from the failing structure to the new support panels.

The homeowner was so happy with how everything went. But most importantly, she now feels safe in her home.
